About The Event

Are you looking to begin an adventure into astronomy and astrophotography or develop your skills in a new, spectacular environment.

We regularly run workshops on the rugged moors overlooking the Calder Valley, star gazing and photographing the Milky Way. A great opportunity to see the Winter nights sky  and develop your astronomy, astrophysics and astrophotography all whilst discovering a new environment

if you do have a camera (preferably a dslr) then bring it along but we do have spares.

The walk from the Robin Hood Pub is up hill, there are no parts that are very steep and someone of moderate fitness will have no trouble adding a new jewel to their walking routes.

We will begin our evening in the Robin Hood, where we'll get to grips with our cameras going over its functions and potential for photographing the nights sky.

We then begin our walk to put some new skills to the test, pausing at some ruins overlooking the Valley, the perfect spot to incorporate some different landscape into our photos. form here we continue further into the moors to the highest point for more photography practice, one direction overlooing the peaceful Calder Valley and the other the sights of a sleeping Halifax.

Because of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic we have taken some steps to ensure your safety and the safety of staff, we are engaged in the track and trace program, we do not take any additional information but we will have the QR code for the NHS track and trace app. We will be outside for the entire time and we will be observing strick socail distancing measures, when social distancing is not possible we are expected and will be wearing face covering. If equipment has to be shared then we will ensure it is sterilised.
